Not So Fast Spring

❄️ Not So Fast, Spring

Forecasts & Feelings | Wanda’s Stories

I thought spring had finally arrived.

Every morning, I’d peek down at the flowerbed by the front walk—eyes scanning the ground like a kid watching cookies rise in the oven.

And then, one day, there they were.
Crocuses.

Little bursts of purple magic pushing their way out of the frozen ground like they had someplace to be.

🌸 The Brave Little Bloom

I smiled. Their pretty heads were wide open, basking in the sunshine like they’d been waiting all winter to stretch.

Brave little things popping up, like,
“It’s safe now. You can come out, too.”

For a moment, it felt like a promise—
That maybe, just maybe, the long, cold days were behind us.

❄️ And Then Came the Betrayal

And then… Mother Nature had to get her two cents in.

Overnight, she dumped a full helping of snow right on top of my crocus.
Not a light dusting—a full-on, fluffy betrayal.

My poor little flower, buried in cold confusion.

I stared out the window, coffee in hand, and just shook my head.

Did I really think it was spring?

💜 Bloom Anyway

Still... that crocus showed up.
Even when it wasn’t time.
Even when the world around it turned cold again.

And maybe there’s something to learn from that.

Maybe spring isn’t about perfect weather or good timing.
Maybe it’s about being brave enough to bloom anyway—even if you end up wearing a snow hat.

💬 Wanda-ism: “Maybe spring isn’t about perfect timing — maybe it’s about being brave enough to bloom anyway.”
